Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph is very much looking forward to be back amongst the action after the international break.
The former Aston Villa man moved to the Etihad stadium in the summer against the advice of many. Delph was seen as a spare man who would fill up the home grown spots in the squad. His signing was compared to the arrivals of players like Adam Johnson in previous years. However, Delph went with confidence and started only five league matches. He has been out with an injury since the end of January, which have prevented his impact in the team. Continue reading “Fabian Delph to be back soon after International Break”
A goalless draw against Manchester United wasn’t enough for Hull City to ensure their Premier League stay as Steve Bruce and his players are now shifting to the Championship League and the coach himself admits that his team deserved this as they haven’t been performing good enough throughout the entire season.
Steve Bruce voiced the disappointment of how his team has been performing in this season as the coach of Hull City said: “It’s an awful experience and it will dawn on the players we are not in the Premier League anymore. There is talking and soul searching to be done. It is bitter and sad at the moment. We all have to take the brunt of it; we have not been good enough. I thought at the start of the season we would have enough to stay in the Premier League but we have not done enough. You have to come back as strong as posible.” Continue reading “Steve Bruce says that his team hasn’t been good enough as they suffered relegation”
Daniel Sturridge has claimed that Liverpool need to win the title this campaign just for Steven Gerrard. The Liverpool captain has been with the club since coming through the youth academy. Even though there were opportunities to leave the club for the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid, Gerrard resisted the urge. He has lifted all the major titles with the club, but the Premier league remains the only trophy that he has failed to lift in all these years at the club. Many pundits argue that Gerrard remains as the only top player in the Premier league to have not done this achievement.
However, it seems that the time has come for the 33-year-old to finally lay his hands on the Premier league title. The club are top of the table with just six matches remaining. They hold a two-point advantage over second placed to Chelsea. Anfield has been made a fortress once again with 14 wins in the 16 matches. Even though the likes of Manchester city and Chelsea are yet to visit Anfield this campaign, Liverpool are feeling confident about their chances of a title. Sturridge has been a major reason towards this brilliant form, as he has scored 20 league goals so far.
“If we win it, Stevie really deserves it, and he should win the Premier League because of everything he has done for this club. Every player in this team will do their best to help him achieve that goal. He’s been so loyal to Liverpool – he has been world class and still is. Stevie will always be a legend, not just for Liverpool but to England as well. He will go down in history as one of the best midfielders in the game, never mind just this club,” said Sturridge, who trails Suarez by nine league goals.
