MIND GAMES

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has stated that he wants to the mind games with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho to stop ahead of the FA Cup clash with the table leaders. Pellegrini has come out worse in the mind games this campaign, as his Manchester City team have already lost twice to Chelsea. One of the losses came out at home where they have been quite imperious since the start of the campaign at home. Pellegrini has set a target of winning all four titles on offer this campaign. They have already qualified for the Capital One Cup the final in which they will be playing against Sunderland.

Even though the club have a match against Barcelona to worry about in the midweek, City are likely to have a full strength squad against Chelsea. City are also boosted by the news that the English FA will not be punishing Yaya Touré for his kick against an opposition player, which was not noticed by the referee. Toure potentially faced a three match ban in the domestic competitions, but he is now free to face Chelsea. Pellegrini said that he was not going to respond to the comments from Mourinho since he is only focused on Manchester City. Ever since cristiano ronaldo signed for Real Madrid, Mourinho has kept on baiting Pellegrini.

“I don’t think it’s the way to do it. I don’t talk about other teams, whether the FA should suspend players from other teams or whether the referee has given bad decisions for the other teams. I think the best way is to work with your team and leave the referees and the FA to do their work. The fair way to do it is for everyone to work with their own club. It is not my way to act, so I will not do it. I don’t think everyone should act the same way,” said Pellegrini.
