Liverpool Move After German Forward to Replace Sturridge

Liverpool have not given up on their pursuit of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, who has become one of the sort of the players in the last few months following impressive performances for the Bundesliga club.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen on strengthening the forward line-up, which is likely to see Daniel Sturridge depart. The England international is unhappy with a place on the bench and he is excited to be one of the first needs to leave Anfield in the summer. This would weaken an offence that struggled to create much opportunities when Sadio Mane was at the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Even though Liverpool have scored the most number of goals (60) in the Premier League, Klopp thinks that the forward positions can be improved with some strength in depth. Werner would be a great addition, and the player recently spoke highly about Liverpool fans and the possibility of playing at Anfield.

It is a remarkable statement coming from the 21-year-old, who has managed to score 14 league goals in just 24 Bundesliga matches. A manager like Klopp would also appreciate the player’s flexibility when it comes to playing in a number of positions.

Werner is capable of playing across the front three just like Roberto Firmino or Philippe Coutinho. This would enable Liverpool to play in a variety of situations over the course of the campaign. He is not the only RB Leipzig player to be linked with a move to Anfield, but Werner appears to be the most likely to make the switch. A number of players at the German outfit are likely to be wanted in the summer. RB Leipzig have produced an incredible story in their first campaign in the Bundesliga. Even though they have fallen off the pace over the last few weeks, the club remain on course for a Champions League spot.
