EVERTON CLOSE TO SEALING THE SIGNING OF TWO ATTACKERS

It looks like new Everton manager Rafa Benitez is particularly interested in bolstering his attacking options at the club after reports recently emerged that he is planning to complete a double signing as early as possible before they start their pre-season business. Benitez has asked the Toffees board to get him Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray this summer it it looks like the Teo players will be signed by the Merseyside outfit in the coming days as long as they can negotiate and agree terms with the players.

Townsend is currently a free agent after leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season and he may be continuing his career in England’s top-flight if reports are to be believed. The 30-year-old has caught the attention of Benitez and he is the sort of player the former Newcastle United manager would love to have in his team because of his pace and direct attacking runs. Everton will now need to negotiate with the player and his agent in order to secure an agreement on his personal terms and he will officially become an Everton player.

Gray, on the other hand, is currently a player of German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and could also be on his way to Everton. The 25-year-old winger was allowed to leave Leicester City last summer after being unable to prove himself to the Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers. However. He has regained his confidence and found his feet in Germany but that could only be a ticket for him to seal a return to England.

Gray could cost Everton around £15 – £20 million and if all goes well, he could prove to be a worthy buy for Everton. The Toffees will now look to complete the signings in the coming days.
