Harry Kane has been unable to get the ball into the net in the 3 matches that he has appeared in so far in the Premier League 2015-16, but, his boss Mauricio Pochettino is not concerned.
As per Pochettino, Kane is putting a lot in his preparations and it will not take long before he starts reaping the rewards of his hard work.
However, Pochettino is quite gutted about the fact that the Spurs couldn’t maintain their lead against two comparatively weaker teams that they played on 15th and 22nd respectively i.e. Stoke City and Leicester City.
While it could easily have been two wins and 6 points for them from those two games, it turned out to be two draws and two points.
Tottenham had actually had a lead of 2-0 in the Stoke game, but, out of the blue, they conceded two back to back goals in a space of 5 minutes in the latter parts of the second half and what was looking like a certain victory for them ended up in a draw. Mark Hughes, the manager of Stoke City, reckons one of his players; Ryan Shawcross deserves another crack at the international level.
Shawcross had one of the unluckiest international debuts of all time. In his very first game for the Three Lions, he was up against an offensive line which had Zlatan Ibrahimovic in it.
Ibrahimovic succeeded in getting the young man under the pressure of the occasion and made him commit silly mistakes.
Shawcross’ mistakes there in Stockholm cost the Three Lions two goals and the game which was looking like going to be a draw ended in the form of Sweden’s win.
And, Shawcross is finding himself away from the thick of things ever since.
His consistency in the first division has been getting overlooked continuously and the defender even hinted in one of his interviews lately that he has almost given up on a recall anytime soon.
According to Hughes, the England management has been a little harsh on Shawcross.
Speaking about the 27-year old, Hughes said, “You have to feel for Ryan a little bit. He is a far better player than he looked at his debut. The nervousness of the first game, all the pressure and of course, he had a great player taking him on there on the pitch, all those things told on him.” Continue reading Mark Hughes reckons Ryan Shawcross deserves another crack
This Premier League season of Manchester United kicked off in an abysmal manner as United lost its opening match of their campaign by losing against Swansea City and their next 2 matches ended in draws when playing with Sunderland and Burnley.
When Louis van Gaal was appointed, he had a tough job to do as the Dutch coach was selected in order to re-construct a team that had crumbled to pieces under the guidance of David Moyes and this slow start of the season did not help this process.
